Huqingyutang Pharmacy

A protected national cultural relic, the Huqingyutang Pharmacy was a renowned Chinese herbal medicine pharmacy, established in 1874 by Hu Xueyan. The entire complex is laid out in well-conceived plan, and the buildings are uniquely designed. To guarantee the quality of its products, the pharmacy used only high-quality raw materials. At present, the old pharmacy is part of a museum of traditional Chinese medicine—the only one of its kind in the country.

The Huqingyutang Chinese Medicine Museum tells the story of the origin, development and applications of medicine museum herbs in the area. Samples of herbal plants and a workshop where medicines are processed by hand are on display. The medicine museum also has a working clinic, and a restaurant where food enhanced with traditional Chinese herbal tonics may be sampled.
