Memorial Stele of the Victory of Crossing Yangtze River

The Cross-River War Victory Memorial is located on the Yijiang Gate Tower of Nanjing City. On April 23, 1984, the city gate tower was transformed into Cross-River War Victory Memorial in order to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Nanjing liberation. The PLA crossed Yangtze River on April 23,1949 and occupied Nanjing by wood boats.A poem is written to record the historic episode by Chairman Mao,and there is also a memorial hall showing the historic materials and files on the top of the Yijangmen gate tower.
