The National Tourism Administration of People’s Republic of China is to launch English version of its official website on January 1, 2009 to build an information platform for communication with the external world. The English version will help foreigners to get information and tips about policies and regulations, data, briefings and know-hows of China tourism.

It is learned that the official website of CNTA is one of the important items of “Three Websites and One Database Project” constructed by the Administration. CNTA has made brand-new revision of its original Chinese and English versions of the website to better implement the Regulation of the People’s Republic of China on the Disclosure of Government Information issued by the State Council, quicken the pace of affairs public, and strengthen its ability to public affairs and work. Be in operation on June 1 this year, the revised official Chinese version has been well received for its emphasis on affair highlights, clear target, correct position, and important role in strengthening government’s service function, broadening tourism communication extent, and promoting tourism affair disclosure.

As the official tourism English platform, the new English version, based on the Chinese one, has integrated the contents and made innovation, emphasized its official status to adopt foreigners’reading habits, and satisfy their requirements of China tourism information. The columns has five parts, that is, Information Briefing, Affairs Open, Travel in China, Exhibition & Festivals, Investigation Online, which are aimed mainly to the necessary information required by international tourists traveling in China. Among the columns, the “Investigation Online” is set on the homepage to receive more and quickly the visitors’ opinions and suggestions of the new website, and meet their further needs. The investigations from the participates will be surmised and analyzed to enrich and improve the English version, and to perfect the website and make it more practical.
