BEIJING, March 19 -- Eight Chinese cities noted for their ancient civilizations have teamed up to promote tourism. They include Beijing, Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, Luoyang, Anyang, Xi'an and Hangzhou.

    The campaign gets started on Friday.

    Residents of the eight cities will be offered discount coupons and preferential treatment when visiting the other cities. Organizer says the discount coupons cover a wide range, from the entrance fee of scenic spots, to air and train tickets.

    The National Tourism Administration also plans new group tours this year with all the ancient Chinese capitals as destinations.
