BEIJING , April 15 -- A stamp auction at the 2009 World Stamp Exhibition has just ended in Luoyang in central China's Henan province. The auction attracted stamp aficionados from around the country. Many rare pieces in the auction appeared in the mainland for the very first time.

The Guardian stamp auction on Sunday is one of the key parts of the World Stamp Exhibition in Luoyang. 875 framed stamps, covering a wide range of periods, from the Qing Dynasty to the founding of the People's Republic of China, were auctioned. Some rare pieces were auctioned with no reserve price.
