HANOI, May 14 (Xinhua) -- The Second Asia-Europe Education Ministers' Meeting opened in Hanoi on Thursday, bringing together minister-level officials and representatives from 39 countries andinternational organizations in the two continents.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung delivered a speech atthe meeting.

The meeting, within the framework of Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM),provided a platform for participants to discuss experience and practice on education development.

This year's meeting featured two themes, including "Quality assurance, credit recognition and transfer in ASEM" and "Sustainable human resources development for ASEM future needs".

Chinese Vice Education Minister Hao Ping led a delegation to participate in the meeting.

The two-day meeting is expected to pass a declaration.
