The Tibet Regional Health Department issued a notice Tuesday on the prevention and control of swine flu to its subordinate units and institutions, according to Tibet Business.
Li Jiang, deputy director of the department's Disease Prevention Division, said that two panels of experts have been set up to assess the swine flu situation, with one composed of disease prevention experts and the other, of clinicians.
He said that the No.2 People's Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region is the designated hospital for receiving and treating possible human cases of swine flu infection.
In addition, hospitals near the airports or border ports have been designated as the "sentinel hospital" for intensified inspection of people entering Tibet from foreign countries.
Moreover, health authorities will beef up disease supervision in schools, kindergartens, and nursing homes, with the focus on the elderly and children.
The outbreak of swine flu in Tibet shall be reported and handled promptly as requested. Meanwhile, specially-assigned people shall be on duty round the clock in medical departments at all levels to ensure timely emergency treatment. Source:Xinhuanet
