YANGON, June 12 (Xinhua) -- A Myanmar traditional costume show to mark the Myanmar Women's Day will be held in Yangon by the end of June, the official newspaper New Light of Myanmar reported Friday.

Aimed at preserving Myanmar culture and showcasing its traditional costume of successive eras, the two-day show, sponsored by the Myanmar Women's Affairs Federation, will take place at the National Theater on June 27 and 28, the report said.

The Myanmar Women's Day will fall on July 3.

The show includes cat-walk show presented by famous academy-winning celebrities, young actresses and models in Myanmar traditional dress with entertainments performed by famous actors and vocalists, it added.

Meanwhile, Myanmar also held traditional cultural performing arts competitions annually since 1993 with the aim of reviving and promoting Myanmar's drama, marionette and performing arts.

The competitions were yearly participated by thousands of youth contestants, include contests of song, dance, composition, music and play at different stages such as professional, amateur, higher education and basic education levels.

Moreover, Myanmar held a culture festival, Bagan 2008 in its famous ancient city of Bagan in November last year, featured by Myanmar traditional culture and arts, and contests of bullock cart, traditional dance and beauty were also introduced.
