Special Report: 2009Spring Festival:Year of Ox

Tuesday is the third day of the Spring Festival travel period and the travel flow is expected to hit 4.7 million. Railway departments had initially predicted that the travel peak would fall on Thursday.

More than 54 million passengers are expected to travel by road on Tuesday. That's 4 percent more than the same period last year.

Meanwhile, aviation departments are arranging over 4000 flights with more than 700,000 seats for the festival travel rush. Airlines are also making preparations in case of bad weather, and some airlines are cooperating with hotels to ensure passengers have somewhere to go in case of long delays.
