Wuhan-based Xiao Long Auto held the starting ceremony for its vehicles' 10,000-kilometer plateau trip in Caidian, Wuhan on May 4.
Testing staff will carry out three "extreme" tests on the Xiao Long vehicles, consisting of an extreme altitude test in Tibet, an extreme heat test in Xinjiang and an extreme cold test in Heilongjiang. The whole activity will take four months, during which the vehicles will travel a total distance of 16,000 kilometers.
The Xiao Long off-road vehicle, known as the "Chinese Hummer," was independently developed by a Wuhan-based private company over a period of 10 years. All the vehicle components and parts are domestically made, and the Chinese company has complete intellectual property rights and independent brand ownership of the vehicle.
Since most of its components and parts can generally be used in different vehicle models, this vehicle can be transformed into over 30 different models. These vehicles can be extensively used in petroleum, water and geological surveying projects, among others.   By People's Daily Online
